Упражнения на степени сравнения прилагательных с ответами

В английском у прилагательного три степени: обычная (big), сравнительная (bigger) и превосходная (the biggest). Короткие слова получают окончания -er и -est, длинные слова more и most, а несколько самых частых меняются целиком: good, better, the best.

Коротко о правиле

Сравнивая два предмета, после сравнительной степени ставят than: Moscow is bigger than Kazan. Равенство передают as ... as: She is as tall as her brother. Подробно правило разобрано в статье Степени сравнения прилагательных.

Частые ошибки

more better. Better уже сравнительная степень: better.

the most big. Короткое слово: the biggest.

bigger then me. После сравнения пишется than: bigger than me.

gooder, badder. Это исключения: better, worse.

the most expensivest. Либо most, либо -est, вместе нельзя: the most expensive.

Частые вопросы

Когда добавлять -er, а когда more?

Окончание -er получают односложные прилагательные и двусложные на -y: cold, colder; happy, happier. Остальные двусложные и длинные сравнивают через more: more expensive, more interesting.

Почему big превращается в bigger?

Если короткое слово кончается на одну гласную и одну согласную, согласная удваивается: big, bigger; hot, hottest; thin, thinner.

Какие прилагательные меняются полностью?

Good, better, the best; bad, worse, the worst; far, farther или further, the farthest или the furthest. Похоже меняются many и much: more, the most; little: less, the least.

Как сказать «такой же, как»?

Через as ... as: She is as tall as her brother. В отрицании говорят not as ... as: This film is not as good as the book.
